Al-Farabi Kazakh National University solved the problem of lack of accommodation by carrying out major repairs. It is planned to increase the living area of the university dormitories by 2,000 places.
Today Dormitory No. 10 has been reopened and put into operation for students. The opening was attended by the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek.
During the meeting Sayasat Nurbek inspected the renovated dorm rooms and talked with the student youth. Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev noted the work done to address the shortage of dormitories in accordance with the instructions of the Head of State. In addition, the rector of the university showed the Minister photographs of the condition of the premises before and after the renovation.
In accordance with the plan of renovation the facade of the building was updated, as well as walls and ceilings were shielded and finished again. The doors and windows have been replaced, modern shower cabins have been installed in each section. The power supply system was reconstructed and new lighting devices were installed. In addition, installation works of the pipeline and sewerage of the building were carried out.
KazNU will soon carry out major repairs of all dormitories and improve the social conditions of students.
