The Faculty of Geography and Environmental Management of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted the grand opening of the Stanislav Yerdavletov’s auditorium, a famous geographer, scientist, Doctor of Geographical Sciences, founder of the Kazakhstan Scientific School of Geography of Tourism. The event was attended by the university administration, the teaching staff and students.
The lecture hall, decorated in a modern style, was opened with the support of philanthropist, student of Stanislav Yerdavletov - Alexander Podvalov.
"Stanislav Yerdavletov is the author of more than 320 scientific papers. He wrote the first theoretical papers and textbooks on the geography of tourism in Kazakhstan. Also, on the initiative of the professor, in 1996 the Department of Tourism was opened for the first time at the geographical faculty of our university. He headed the newly created department for 13 years. Today's event is of great importance. A lecture hall is opened, named after a scientist who worked tirelessly in the field of geography. Over the past two years, about 20 modern classrooms have been opened at KazNu. This work will be continued in the future," Fatima Nadyrovna stressed.
