KAZNU HOSTED THE CONFERENCE "AKHMET BAITURSYNULY AND THE LANGUAGE OF SCIENCE"

The international scientific and theoretical conference "Akhmet Baitursynuly and the Language of Science" was held at the al-Farabi Kazakh National University as part of the "Akhmet Baitursynuly Readings".

Well-known state and public figures, domestic and foreign correspondents, scientists and students took part. At the plenary session a welcome letter was read by Chairman of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbayev, which said: "Akhmet Baitursynuly war a very deep, versatile individual. He made every effort to expand his knowledge and gain freedom in such important fields as language, literature, linguistics, pedagogy, politics. In his work “Kyryk Mysal” he addressed the nation and tried to awaken the consciousness of the Kazakhs by using the image of a mosquito. Under the leadership of the figure, the first national newspaper "Kazakh" was published. Akhmet Baitursynuly, together with the Leader of the nation Alikhan Bokeikhanuly and Mirzhakip Dulatuly, stood at the origins of the Alash movement.

Chairman of the Board-Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev addressed the participants of the meeting with a welcoming speech. "Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has also prepared for the 150^th anniversary of Akhmet Baitursynuly. Scientific and practical conferences dedicated to the scientist's legacy were held. We have published a multi-volume collection of selected works of the Teacher of the Nation. The main feature of this issue is that students have the opportunity to read the works of A. Baitursynov in original. This year, the Department of Kazakh Linguistics of the University was named after the Teacher of the Nation – Akhmet Baitursynov," Zhanseit Tuimebayev proclaimed.
