RECTOR OF KAZNU SPOKE AT THE XV CONGRESS OF THE EURASIAN ASSOCIATION OF UNIVERSITIES IN MOSCOW

Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev made a report at the XV Congress of the Eurasian Association of Universities (EAU).

As a moderator, the forum was opened by the President of the EAU, Rector of Moscow State University Viktor Sadovnichiy.

"Thanks to the history, the high level of professionalism of our academic staff and scientists, the university has a global competitiveness. Today we are a multidisciplinary research university that consists of 16 faculties of natural science, engineering, technical and socio-humanitarian areas. The scientific system includes 7 research institutes, 29 research centers and 2 centers for collective use. There are more than 140 scientific and educational research laboratories," the rector of KazNU Zh.K. Tuimebayev said.

It was noted that Al-Farabi Kazakh National University pays special attention to international cooperation and successfully cooperates with 500 universities around the world. The leading university of the country has a wide range of educational programs and research areas, implements 33 double-degree programs jointly with universities of three member countries of the EAU.

The participants of the congress discussed the main areas of cooperation between the member universities of the Association in modern conditions, as well as organizational issues of the EAU activities. The admission of new members to the Eurasian Association of Universities and the signing of cooperation agreements between universities also took place. Thus, the Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University signed a cooperation agreement between the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education Lomonosov Moscow State University. Within the framework of the agreement, it is planned to exchange students, staff of universities, develop and implement joint educational programs, organize academic meetings and symposiums, conduct joint research activities. The work of the congress ended with the adoption of decisions that will allow universities to coordinate their strategies in the process of developing answers to global questions, to intensify cooperation in the scientific and educational direction, etc.
