RECTOR OF KAZNU VISITS THE SCIENTIFIC RESEACRH COMPLEX "TECHNOPOLIS" OF PETER THE GREAT ST.PETERSBURG POLYTECHNIC UNIVERSITY
4/21/2023Chairman of the Management Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev visited the scientific research complex "Technopolis" of St. Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU) during a two-day visit.
There various joint centers of local and foreign companies have been established, they develop scientific and educational technologies for training engineering personnel and solve urgent problems of the Russian industry.
Accompanied by SPbPU Rector Andrey Rudsky and Vice-Rector for International Affairs D. Arsenyev, the Rector of KazNU got acquainted with the work of the Technopolis. So, in the laboratories of Additive Technologies, the Institute of Mechanical Engineering, Materials and Transport, Light Materials and Structures, equipment and projects were presented.
Director of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering, Materials and Transport Anatoly Popovich noted that "the institute consists of four higher schools, which have many years of experience in the field of research and design of new products, technology development and creation of new educational programs." The Institute provides training in such areas as automation, robotics, digital engineering, new materials, control systems, transport and logistics.
Anatoly Popovich emphasized that the SPbPU laboratories had created a technology for fresh water purification, a neural network for new 3D metal printers. Also, rector of KazNU was presented with a game complex that helps in the rehabilitation of patients after stroke.
Further, Vice-Rector for Digital Transformation Alexey Borovkov stressed that the research program of Technopolis of the SPbPU contains 35 scientific research and development topics. Today scientists and students of SPbPU use powerful supercomputer center "Polytechnic". Rector Zhanseit Tuimebayev also got acquainted with major projects in the field of digitalization and digital modeling.
