The Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted an international scientific and practical conference "The Literary Heritage of Rakhmetolla Rayimkulov: Artistic and National Character" dedicated to the 110^th anniversary of the writer, public figure Rakhmetolla Rayimkulov.

A solemn presentation of the serial book "Gibratty Gumyr" dedicated to the life and work of the writer, and the children's book "Sur Kobelek" took place at the event.

The conference was attended by Adviser to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Malik Otarbayev, Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev, writers Dulat Isabekov, Nurlan Orazalin, Smagul Yelubai, Sauytbek Abdrakhmanov, state and public figures, daughter of Rakhmetolla Rayimkulova, head of the state concert organization "Kazakhconcert" named after R. Baglanova Aktoty Rayimkulova, faculty and students.

During the conference, the congratulatory letter of the Head of State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was read out by the Adviser to the President of Kazakhstan Malik Otarbayev. The letter states: "Rakhmetulla Rayimkulov is a writer who has made a great contribution to the development of our spirituality. The works of the writer found a response in the hearts of readers and received a well-deserved assessment. He also translated classical foreign works into Kazakh and left a rich spiritual heritage. The writer's career will undoubtedly become an example for the younger generation."

A congratulatory letters from the Minister of Information and Public Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Darkhan Kydyrali and the Minister of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askhat Oralov were also read out.

In turn, Chairman of the Board – Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev made a speech and told about the work path of Rakhmetolla Rayimkulov. "The scientific and creative path of Rakhmetolla Rayimkulov began in 1935 at the Tashkent Pedagogical Institute. He gave advice to many young writers and showed them the way. He was an excellent leader and at the same time engaged in literary and creative activities. The name of Rakhmetolla Rayimkulov, a talented novelist, is known in literary circles and among readers," Zhanseit Tuimebayev stressed.

"Rakhmetulla Rayimkulov is a man who gave a new impetus to Kazakh literature. Each of his literary creations has reached the very soul of every reader. He left a huge legacy to his descendants. We should never forget our writers who have left their mark on the literary world. Today's event is of great importance," Dulat Isabekov emphasized.

At the end of the meeting, the daughter of the writer Aqtoty Rayimkulova thanked the leadership of KazNU for organizing the event. She noted that the presented book that is published in the series "Gibratty Gumyr" occupies a special place in Kazakh literature.

In addition, within the framework of the event, a photo and book exhibition dedicated to the life and work of the writer was organized.
