The Department of General Linguistics and European Languages ​​of the Faculty of Philology and World Languages ​​is one of the perspective departments of the Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi. Research traditions and main directions of pedagogical activity of the faculty of the department were formed under the influence of outstanding scientists who worked at the department in different years. At the department at a high level lectures of the doctors’, candidates’ of philological and pedagogical sciences, doctors’ PhD are read. 

The purpose of the department: Preparation of highly qualified, competitive and up-to-date specialists in the field of linguistics, foreign languages and turkology.
