About the Department

In accordance with Order No. 20 of the Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University dated February 10, 2009, and Resolution No. 4 of the University Academic Council dated February 27, 2009, the Department was officially renamed the Department of Pre-University Training and began operating under a new educational framework.

The main objectives of the Department of Pre-University Training are to:

• prepare prospective students for admission to higher education institutions in the Republic of Kazakhstan and for the Comprehensive Entrance Examination through an enhanced educational process;
• systematize students' knowledge of the state language, strengthen their understanding of key concepts, and provide the additional knowledge required for successful university studies;
• develop students' communicative competence in Kazakh in academic, professional, social, cultural, and public domains.

The Department's primary goal is to prepare applicants for the Comprehensive Entrance Examination.

To achieve this objective, the Department provides instruction in the core examination subjects, including Reading Literacy, Mathematical Literacy, and the History of Kazakhstan, as well as specialized subjects such as Mathematics, Geography, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Computer Science, World History, and English.

In addition, the Department prepares international applicants for admission to master's degree programs at postgraduate education institutions.

The Department's key areas of activity include active participation in scientific research, educational and methodological work, and student development, while continuously improving the quality of the educational process.
