MODEL OF GRADUATING STUDENT

ON 1. Conduct analytical research in the field of information security for the scientific formulation of problems by interpreting modern theories and concepts, methods and techniques for applied, experimental, theoretical research.

ON 2. Simulate software products as a result of experimental research in the field of information security and data protection by analyzing and evaluating modern scientific advances in this area.

ON 3. Develop algorithms and implementation programs as a result of applied research in the field of information security and data protection based on a holistic, systematic scientific approach using knowledge in the field of information security systems, information-theoretic approaches to cryptography problems, methods of cryptographic analysis, standards and policies information security and methods for assessing the security of IS.

ON 4. To develop scientific approaches, methods of cryptographic data transformation as a result of theoretical, fundamental and applied research using modern cryptology methodology.

ON 5. Participate in the work of domestic and international research projects to solve applied scientific and educational problems in the field of information security.

ON 6. Make expert opinions in the scientific and practical sphere of the subject area of information security and data protection and reasonably assessing the degree of compliance of the protected objects of informatization and information systems with the current information security standards.

ON 7. Compile the methodology, rules, regulations, instructions and other organizational and administrative documents for information security management of automated information systems.

ON 8. Create effective methods and algorithms that increase the strength of cryptographic tools and algorithms.

ON 9. Implement in practice the basic primitive and applied protocols, have an understanding of the analysis of the strength of the protocols.

ON 10. Develop a methodology for testing and assessing the security of information systems for penetration in order to eliminate incidents based on generally recognized international methodologies.

ON 11. Present in English scientific publications with high impact factor, test results of scientific research, participation in various international conferences, forums and scientific seminars.

ON 12. Carry out teaching activities on educational programs of higher education in online and offline modes, using modern, digital educational resources, problem-oriented, practice-oriented learning technologies, differentiated student-centered pedagogical approaches, developing textbooks, teaching aids, methodological support, educational disciplines on information security.

  • Description - Purpose: know the methodologies and methods for evaluating the cryptanalysis results, impact of changes in the characteristics of cryptoalgorithms on resistance. Researching algorithms, analyzing the reliability of cryptoalgorithms using efficient SAT solvers. The following will be considered: crypto-transformations characteristics influence on the resistance to crypto-attacks and principles of their opposition.

  • Description - The main purpose of "PhD thesis writing and defence": of a doctoral dissertation is the formation of the doctoral students' ability to disclose the content of research work for the defense of the thesis. During the study of course, doctoral student's should be competent in: 1. to substantiate the content of new scientifically grounded theoretical and experimental results that allow to solve a theoretical or applied problem or are a major achievement in the development of specific scientific directions; 2. explain the assessment of the completeness of the solutions to the tasks assigned, according to the specifics of the professional sphere of activity; 3. they can analyze alternative solutions for solving research and practical problems and assess the prospects for implementing these options; 4. apply the skills of writing scientific texts and presenting them in the form of scientific publications and presentations. 5. to plan and structure the scientific search, clearly highlight the research problem, develop a plan / program and methods for its study, formalize, in accordance with the requirements of the State Educational Establishment, the scientific and qualification work in the form of a thesis for a scientific degree Doctor of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) on specialty «8D07502 – Standardization and certification (by industry)». During the study of the discipline doctoral student will learn following aspects: Registration of documents for presentation of the thesis for defense.   • Description - Purpose: form the conducting skills of statistical cryptanalysis of modern breaking methods for block ciphers. The following will be considered: rounds number influence of crypto-transformations on resistance to statistical attacks; evaluation breaking possibilities of cryptosystems based on statistical patterns research of original, encrypted messages; vulnerabilities in modern ciphers using statistics.

  • Description - Purpose: form using skills of the cryptographic primitive’s (CP) theory apparatus to create effective methods, algorithms that increase cryptographic means strength. The following will be considered: CP intended for a high degree of reliability tasks classes; practice implementation of basic primitive, applied protocols; reliability analysis and development of CP, algorithms.

Information security standards and policy

  • Description - Purpose: know the national standards development, ensuring information security (IS) methods, compliance assessing of information resources security levels, organization's IS systems state imposed regulatory requirements (IS international standards). The following will be considered: development corporate, other documents on the information protection, IS policy that defines the requirements for ensuring IS.

Information-theoretic approaches to solving the main problems of cryptography

  • Description - Purpose: form building skills of the information security systems that have demonstrable durability, not depends on new computing schemes capabilities. The following will be considered: theoretical, informational approaches to cryptography problem solutions; use algebraic, probabilistic, algorithmic methods to cryptosystems stability assess; numerical assessments of complexity of solving basic cryptographic tasks.

Practical Pentesting
