About the program
Training a qualified surgeon with a system of universal and professional competencies, capable and ready for independent professional activity based on the application and development of advanced innovative, informational, and communication technologies in practice and science.

Upon completion of this program, it is expected that residents will be able to
1. Integrate clinical knowledge and skills for effective diagnosis, treatment, and disease management, and for improving the health of patients with surgical pathology at all levels of medical care, based on evidence-based practice and critical evaluation of new information.
2. Provide specialized surgical care to patients in accordance with current clinical treatment protocols and standards of surgical medical care, including emergency and life-threatening conditions; evaluate the effectiveness and safety of applied therapy and surgical interventions.
3. Collect, interpret, analyze, evaluate, and prioritize relevant data to develop a plan for diagnosis and disease management, including the initiation and independent conduct of surgical interventions for surgical pathology.
4. Effectively use communication skills to establish positive and trusting relationships with patients during the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of surgical profile diseases and emergency conditions, including performing diagnostic procedures and initiating appropriate interventions.
5. Effectively manage the treatment and diagnostic process for surgical profile pathology while adhering to ethical and deontological principles, demonstrating teamwork with other healthcare professionals, and applying knowledge of the basic principles of human behavior and patient psychology, taking into account age, cultural characteristics, and racial affiliation for effective communication with the patient.
6. Apply knowledge of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of health protection, protection of the rights of doctors and patients (children), and be guided by regulatory legal acts that determine the activities of organizations and medical workers of the surgical profile.
7. Use modern information and digital technologies and health information systems to solve professional tasks, maintain medical records to improve efficiency and ensure the safety and quality of surgical care.
8. Contribute to improving the quality of life and preventing diseases of the surgical profile by applying the principles and methods of promoting a healthy lifestyle and improving population health.
9. Demonstrate commitment to the highest standards of professional responsibility and integrity, and the need for independent, continuous professional learning and improvement of knowledge and skills throughout professional activity.
10. Analyze and critically evaluate professional literature, formulate research questions, effectively use international databases in daily activities, and participate in scientific research aimed at advancing knowledge in the field of human health and improving quality of life.
