Coinciding with the first month of spring, the traditional republican Japanese Speech Contest was held online this year, despite the situation in the world.

Friday 12 March 2021 the eighth online seminar was held with the participation of the director of the research center "Written monuments and spiritual heritage" acting Assoc. prof. Zubaida Shadkam, on the topic "Features of the use of Persian words in medieval Turkic written monuments", organized by the Department of Turksoy and the research center "Written monuments and spiritual heritage" of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of KazNU named after al-Farabi, moderated by the teacher Kutlugjon Sultanbek.

Оn march 3, 2021 at the Faculty of Oriental Studies, the Department of Middle East and South Asia of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, hosted an annual award of the traditionally stimulating scholarship named after Marziya Nurmaganbetovna Mazhenova and Dina Nurkenovna Nurtazinova, 1st year student Ashaeva Ayazhan, 2nd year student Ainakulova Zhadyr, 3rd year student Shaek Albina and 4th year student Kopzhasar Ayala.

On February 25, 2021, at the Department of the Middle East and South Asia of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, a meeting was held with the Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Center for the Study of the History, Art, and Culture of Islam (IRCICA) under the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, a well-known orientalist Muminov Ashirbek Kurbanovich.

On February 23, 2021, the grand opening of the online course of the Uzbek language took place at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi KazNU. The event was attended by the Consul General of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Almaty Fatkhullaev A., Rector of the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, Ph.D., Associate Professor G. Rikhsieva, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation of the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, Ph.D. Associate Professor Makhmudov E., Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Al-Farabi KazNU, PhD Paltore Y., PhD of the Department of the Middle East and South Asia Dzhakubaeva S., head of the department of TURKSOY, PhD Kydyrbaeva U., as well as students of the Faculty.

On February 21, 2021 club "Gulistan" of the Department of the Middle East and South Asia, the Faculty of Oriental studies held an online meeting with Omarkhanova Gauhar Zhumagazievna, speaker of the Kazakh radio and translator information site Pars Today Kazakh, owned by global service host Iranian TV and radio.

On February 1, 2021, KazNU hosted a ceremony of awarding incentive scholarships on behalf of the International Organization "TURKSOY" to students of 2-4 courses of the department of TURKSOY. The Secretary General of the International Organization "TURKSOY" Duisen Kоrabaiuly Kaseinov, who popularizes the rich heritage of the Turkic world and serves to strengthen cooperation between states, spoke at the award ceremony.

On February 4, 2021, the adviser of the Far East Department of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the al-Farabi Kazakh National University Amirbekova U.A., together with members of the student scientific circle "Shin Sede", conducted a cultural and educational event on the theme "Seven Wonders of the World" within the framework of the project "Ruhani Zhangyru".

On February 4, 2021, on the ZOOM online platform, under the guidance of 1st year advisor Kim E., a Leadership lecture will be held on the topic "Working of a Korean language interpreters during the COVID-19 pandemic" with Barbosynova Nazerke, which is a graduate of 2018 from KazNU named after Al-Farabi. Students of the Department of Korean Studies of the Department of the Far East will took path in it.

The launch of the book "Canvas of Cultures" was organized on January 29, 2021 jointly by the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, and the Embassy of the Republic of India in the Republic of Kazakhstan, S. Vivekananda Indian Cultural Center (Nur-Sultan). The event took place in an offline/online format.
