From November 30, 2020 to January 20, 2021 in Beijing city (China), a competition was held to dub Chinese films and television works among foreigners. The competition is organized by the Chinese Center for Foreign Languages in cooperation with the Central Radio and Television, the “Chinese Bridge” Club and the Chinese Language Alliance. 

On January 15, 2021 at the Department of the Middle East and South Asia of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the Kazakh National University al-Farabi celebrated the "International Hindi Language Day".

On January 6, 2021 at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University took place a meeting with the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan Doctor Sajjad Ahmad Seehar.  

The Faculty of Oriental Studies of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University celebrated in an online format the birthday of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, one of the founders of Pakistan and the first Governor General of the country, one of the most active participants in the section of British India.

On December 23, 2020, the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, in cooperation with the Department of Middle East and South Asia and the Turan-Iran Research Center, held an international scientific conference "Abai and Turkic-Persian Poets" in an online format, dedicated to the 175th anniversary of the philosopher Abai Kunanbayev.

On December 21, 2020, the faculty of Oriental studies of al-Farabi Kazakh National University Department of Middle East and South Asia "Gulistan" circle celebrated the holiday "Shab-I Yalda" of the Persian people, which dates back to ancient times.

On December 16 at the platform "ZOOM" in honor of the 29th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan the Department of Middle East and South Asia, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Senior Lecturer of Arabic Studies Zhumazhanova F., with the students held an online meeting on "Zheltoksan - the harbinger of Independence of Kazakhstan!

From November 30 to December 13, 2020, an online seminar "The Bridge of the Chinese Language" was held. The main organizers of the seminar are the Center for Communication and Cooperation of Chinese and Foreign Languages ​​under the Ministry of Education of China, the Department of International Teaching of Chinese Language of the Beijing University of Languages, and the Center for the Spread of Chinese Culture in the World. About a hundred teachers from Kazakhstan, Korea, Uzbekistan and Japan took part in the online seminar. 8 teachers Al-FarabiKazNU, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Department of Chinese Studies also took an active part in the seminar and improved their knowledge.

On December 11, 2020, a regular online meeting of the al-Farabi Kazakh national University and the M. K. Ammosov NEFU was held. The event was organized by the Department of TURKSOY of the faculty of Oriental studies on the basis of the project "Ainalandy nurlandyr" in order to develop cooperation in the educational, scientific and cultural space. Along with the teaching staff, headed by G. Toralieva the meeting was attended by graduate and undergraduate students.

On December 5-6 this year, the international forum “The need to study Chinese culture and focus on the theory and practice of cultural relations” was held online, organized by the Chinese center for cultural communication studies of Huazhong agrarian University, China. The forum was attended by 27 experts and scientists from Kazakhstan, the United States, Japan, Indonesia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Taiwan and other countries and regions, who shared their thoughts through a cloud conference. And more than 300 people took part through the Internet connection.
