Every year students of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University have an internship at the Japanese House Ichikawa and conduct various events with them.

04.03.2020 A well-known Turkologist, associate professor of the Department of Kazakh Philology of the Central University of Nationalities of the People’s Republic of China, Doctor of Historical Sciences Duysenali Abdylashimuly visited our faculty, gave lectures to students and undergraduates majoring in Turkology and Oriental Studies.

Students have many questions before graduation, and one of the important issues among them is employment. The Department of the Far East invited N. M. February 21, 2020 at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Kazakh National University. Al-Farabi held a meeting with the Secretary of State of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Dr. Nadim Shafiq Malik. The meeting was attended by Deputy Dean for Science, Innovation and International Relations S.T. Jakubaeva, head of the department P. Suleimenov, Z. E. Iskakova, A. Turar, N. Ospan and others.
The guest of honor was welcomed by the dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Mr. Yktiyar Paltore, who introduced them to the activities of the Faculty of Oriental Studies. Guests visited the faculty, research centers, departments, the Museum of the East, also met with students and teachers of the department of the Middle East and South Asia in the center named after Muhammad Ali Jinnah. During the meeting, the universities of Kazakhstan and Pakistan, cooperation in the field of academic mobility, the prospects of an agreement between Pakistan and Kazakhstan and the future process of cooperation between the two countries were discussed. The dean of the faculty, Mr. Yktiyar Paltore, thanked Dr. Nadeem Shafiq Malik for his visit and expressed confidence that many years of friendly relations between Kazakhstan and Pakistan would be impeccable. Students also emphasized that such meetings provide great motivation for learning a new language. A surprise for the guests was the opening of the Muhammad Ali Jinnah Center at the Faculty of Oriental Studies, students read in Urdu, who are fluent in this language. Meetings and conversations with native speakers made a huge impression. Mr. Mohammad Farouk, Commercial Consul of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Almaty, Mr. Muhammad Rafiq, Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of Pakistan in Almaty, also expressed their gratitude.
