12/26/2018 Competition for the best essay on the topic “Silk Road, Young Dreams”

The Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Almaty, together with the universities of the Consular District, the Confucius Institute and the community of Chinese students, conducted a monetary prize contest for the best essay on the theme “Silk Road, Young Dreams” within the framework of the five-year anniversary of the One Belt and One Road initiative.

The Faculty of Oriental Studies hosted an international conference about Korean literature called “Study of Korean literature abroad: problems, trends and prospects”. It is part of a three-year project, to discuss about researches done by non-native on Korean studies , funded by the Academy of Korean Studies of the Republic of Korea.

12/13/2018 GUESTS OF THE FACULTY OF ORIENTAL STUDIES FROM THE SPHERE OF ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY

On 12 December, the delegation headed by Dr. Tuncay Sevindik from Yıldız University of Istanbul (Turkey) came to the Faculty of Oriental Studies.

Yildiz University of Technology is a world renowned university that is actively introducing modern engineering technologies into science and education. The University’s IT specialists have developed a number of programs to simplify any work in everyday life, including the use of computer programs in the field of education, scientific work at the specialized technology park of the university. They have practically been practiced and demonstrated their great results. As well as this, now they are gaining the interest of European countries.

12/10/2018 Scholarship

On December 10, 2018 in the rector's office at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University was held ceremony of awarding scholarships JSC "Shinhan Bank Kazakhstan" in Almaty. Seven students who had a high GPA, as well as low-income families of Department of the Far East of the Oriental Studies Faculty of KazNU received scholarships in the amount of 110 000 tenge (770 000 tenge). The scholarships were awarded by Jaksykeldinov Nariman Maksutovich, Managing Director of JSC “Shinhan Bank Kazakhstan”.

12/7/2018 MEETING WITH MEMBERS OF THE INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF CULTURAL DIPLOMACY

On November 30, 2018, at the Near East and South Asia Department of the Faculty of Oriental Studies was held a meeting with a delegation from the International Institute of Cultural Diplomacy (United Arab Emirates). The meeting was attended by the head of the delegation, the director of the International Institute of Cultural Diplomacy, Mohammed Kamil Ali Mueini, the writer Nasser al-Zaheri, the regional manager Walid al-Abed, the owner of Rohmix, Ali Ahmad Ubaid Naqbi, Ubaid al-Tenedi, the dean of the faculty Paltore Yqtiyar Moldatoreuly, teachers of the Near East and South Asia department and students of the 1st and 2nd courses.
