On December 4, 2018, the Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies at the KazNU named after Al-Farabi Y.M. Paltore received Dr. Sanjay Garg, Director of the Indian Cultural Center at the Embassy of the Republic of India to the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Department of the Far East annually holds meetings with Mitsubishi Bank, which is the leader of the largest banks in Japan. With the help of such lectures, students improve not only the level of the Japanese language, but also receive high-quality knowledge in various fields

By the initiative of our scholars of the Department of Far East Studies, Chun Byong-soon and Myong Soon-ok, now, 3 universities in Europe (2 in Spain; 1 in Finland) as well as 4 universities in Kazakhstan are joining this international project of One Asia. These activities under the project will activate to expand academic and scholar exchange between universities in Kazakhstan and universities in Europe.

On December 4, the International Kazakh-Chinese Language College hosted the Opening Ceremony of the Week of Foreign Languages within the framework of the Spiritual Renaissance Program.

The Kazakh poetry of Olzhas Suleimenov sounded within the walls of the National University of Jeonbuk (Republic of Korea). Lecturers of the Department of the Far East KazNU Al-Farabi, at the invitation of the National University of Jeonbuk and the city of Jeonju (Republic of Korea), took part in the international conference «Korean studies in the 21st Century: Challenges and Responses».

  During the period from November 29 to 30, “New Silk Road - the road to the hearts of the people” the 2nd China's national conditions knowledge competition was jointly organized by the Chinese Consulate General in Almaty, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and Confucius Institute at Al- Farabi Kazakh National University.

Akhmetova Anel, a 4th year student of specialty “Oriental Studies” of the Chinese studies Department, became the main prize winner of the 2nd World Cognitive Intelligence Contest “New Silk Road through the Heart of the People”

On November 27, students of the Iranian and Indology departments of the Middle East and South Asia visited the Academic Theater of Kazakh drama named after M.Auezov.

The Day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan is celebrated in the country From December 1, 2012. This holiday was established to celebrate and recognize the outstanding achievements of the first president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev.

In November 2018, the Department of Chinese Studies, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University organized a scientific and methodical round table "Innovative technologies of teaching Chinese in higher educational institutions of Kazakhstan".
