On November 27, 2018, Yukio Takaoka, President of the Japanese Recruiting Company Regions, based in Sapporo, Japan, gave a lecture at the Faculty of Oriental Studies at the Kazakh National University. Al-Farabi.

On the Mid-November, the Faculty of Oriental Studies and Confucius Institute jointly organized a language event on the theme “Language is the power of unity”.

On November 23-24, a large-scale international competition in the Korean language took place at the Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages ​​named after Ablaikhan. It was attended by 40 students (15 universities from 10 cities of four countries: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Russia).

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, faculty of Oriental Studies, department of Turksoy is organizing a competition Brain Ring among students of Turksoy department in order to develop the intellectual competence of youth.

From 12 to 14 November 2018, a program was organized for diplomats of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation “Transnational threats, terrorism and security issues”. The program was conducted by the General Secretariat of the League and was held at the Kazakh National University. Al-Farabi, funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The event was attended by Head of the Department of Peace, Security and Conflict at the General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, A. Musinov, Director General of the Asian Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, A. Bakaev and diplomatic officer of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, V. Ahsan. This program will have a good impact on the world of threats of terrorism and organized crime. Participants were briefed on the current security situation in the Near East, North Africa, Africa, Central Asia, South and Southeast Asia.

In order to realize the strategic development of the university, the development of external academic mobility, the Department of the Far East of the Oriental Studies Faculty together with the students of Sunmoon University initiated the winter school in the first half of the 2018-2019 academic year.

On November 13, 2018 at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, at the organization of the Hindi and Urdu department, a meeting was held with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan, Mr. Imtiaz Ahmad Kazi. With Mr. Ambassador came guests from the Consulate of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Almaty Basit Saleem Shah, Chairman of the Board of the National Bank of Pakistan Rafiq Muhammad.

On September 13^th at the Oriental Studies’ Faculty of the Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi the representative of the Japanese Embassy in Kazakhstan gave a lecture on «Japan in the period of high economic growth».

From November 12 to November 14, 2018, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University will organize an event dedicated to the diplomats of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation member states. The event is attended by teachers and students of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Department of the Middle East and South Asia. Teachers participate as translators, and students as volunteers.
