September 11, 2018 at 15.00 at the Department of the Middle Eastern and South Asian studies, Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University  held a meeting with the famous writer, a graduate of Oxford University, adviser Yasser Arafat, leader of the women's movement of Palestine Hanan Audom. 

The Department of the Far East a year ago initiated negotiations with the participation of the First Vice-Rector M. Burkitbayev, where an agreement was reached on cooperation with the University of Bunkyou Gakuin (Japan).

On September 4, 2018, the doctor of historical sciences, Professor Mukhametkhanuly Nabizhan and other attender of the department of Chinese studies welcomed the delegation of Chinese Academy of Social Science headed by Dr. Li He, researcher at the Institute of Philosophy of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

At the end of August the associate professor Akhapov EA. and students of his laboratory of the Far East department of the Oriental Studies faculty has successfully achieved the course of Japan-Asia Youth Exchange Program in Science (SAKURA Exchange Program in science) administrated by Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) at the University of Tsukuba.

At the invitation of China Pipeline Company and Maulina Nurlankyzy, representative of Almaty of China University of Petroleum,Professor Nabizhan Mukhametkhanuly gave a lecture (in Chinese) at the conference hall of the Central Asia Pipeline Company Almaty Office on August 4, 2018, 10:00-13:00.

At the invitation of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Nabizhan Mukhametkhanuly conducted an academic visit in China between July 22 and 28, 2018.

In the summer of 2018, professor Al-Farabi KazNU Aldabek N.A. made a presentation at the international forum in Wuhan (China)

Chairman of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace of the United Arab Emirates, Mr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Jarwan, visited the Faculty of Oriental Studies of al-Farabi KazNU at the end of May this year as а part of his official trip to Almaty. Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies Yktiyar Paltore met the honor guest and acquainted with the Faculty. The dean said that relations with the Arab countries are currently at an insufficiently high level.

Department of Middle East and South Asia, Faculty of Oriental Studies, al-Farabi KazNU notifies of the arrival on May 10, 2018 in al-Farabi KazNU with an official visit of representatives of the Hamad bin Khalifa University (Qatar), headed by the president of the University Ahmad M.Hasna.
