The 28th World Winter Universiade was held in Almaty from January 28 to February 8. Our students were volunteers in this large-scale event. They were the attaché of delegates from South Korea. They helped them with the translation, explained and showed them our Almaty.

At the beginning of the new semester, there was another really significant event after the founding of the Kazakh National University in 1934. This is the opening ceremony of the Triumphal ark of graduates “Мәңгілік ел”, which became a kind of "pagoda of science" opens the doors of the University.

On February 2, the House of Friendship cinemas hosted another Seminar of NTO KAHAK, organized jointly with the Kazakhstan section of the Consultative Council for Peaceful and Democratic Association of Korea, the Center for Korean Studies of KazNU. al-Farabi and the Department of Chemistry and Technology of Organic Compounds of Natural Compounds and Polymers KazNU. Al-Farabi. The international seminar aims to promote the institutionalization of diaspora research in Kazakhstan. This main goal is achieved by solving a number of tasks that are implemented within the framework of the implementation of the scientific project "Modern Diasporology and Kazakhstan's Experience of Interethnic Accord and Tolerance" for 2015-2016.

Senior lecturers of Far East department, at Al Farabi Kazakh National University S.K. Borankulova and M.T.Shadayeva organized the methodical seminar “Methods of teaching of East language: based on Japanese language” for Oriental studies faculty teachers. The main issues of the seminar were related to improving speaking skills. There were considered problems occurring during the speaking process, some difficulties arising during the study of a foreign language (here: Japanese language).
