Meeting with Professor of Hong Kong Polytechnic University

17 September, the director of the Department of Chinese Language and Bilingualism of the Humanities Faculty of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, David Lee, met with the Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies of al-Farabi KazNU and the staff of the Department of Chinese Studies. Professor Lee discussed the activation of relations between the two faculties with the dean of the faculty, Y.M. Paltore. The last 2-3 years cooperation between the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Al-Farabi KazNU is developing dynamically. Within the framework of the agreement between the two universities, there are many opportunities for the development of cooperation between the faculties in the field of research and education.

At the meeting with the teaching staff, undergraduates, doctoral students of the Department of Chinese Studies, Head of the Department Orazakynkyzy Farida, Deputy Dean for Scientific-Innovation Activity and International Relations Serikkaliyeva Azhar and Professor of the Department Muhametkhanuly Nabizhan presented the work at the department and at the faculty.

In his turn, Professor Lee presented three goals of his trip. First of all, get acquainted with al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the Faculty of Oriental Studies and the teaching staff, researchers, scientists of the Department of Chinese Studies, and learn more about the teaching of the Chinese language in Central Asia and Kazakhstan.

The second goal is the promotion of the Language, Culture and Communication study program (BDLCC), Bachelors programs (BACBS / BAESP) and full scholarship programs for talented students of our university.

The third goal is to prepare the conditions for the next trips scheduled for the spring of 2019.

The professor presented various programs of his university. Programs offered by the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, interested researchers, undergraduates and doctoral students.
