On the 25th of September teachers of Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi, Professor Yumi Onishi and Alibi Aripov conducted professional-oriented work in secondary schools №25 and №16 in Taldykorgan. The main purpose of this professional orientation work, which is a joint project of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the Japan Foundation, is to attract students to study Japanese language and learn about culture of Japan. Topaev Orlan Sabitovich, the director of the school № 25, warmly welcomed the teachers and after a short and convenient conversation provided them with the necessary equipment and classroom. During the work, Professor Yumi Onishi gave a short lecture on origami art to the pupils of this school. Then they went to high school №16. Director of this school Suleimenova Saltanat Zhanlysovna instructed her teachers and assistants to consider the situation at the necessary level for successful completion of our work. Thanks to the speed of the director, our teachers had the opportunity to tell the students in detail about the benefits of studying in Japan and the benefits of studying at our university. Our teachers also presented a video to pupıls of the school about study in Al-Farabi National University and in Japan. The following day, on September 26, our teachers continued their work and went to secondary school №4 and to № 18 secondary school named after Baktybai Zholbarys. These two schools are very interested in the professional-oriented work of our faculty, and they have prepared a fully-equipped classroom for our teachers. Our teachers, as usual, easily explained the information they had, and answered all the questions. Pupils of schools of Taldykorgan were also interested in anime and Japanese history. Thus, our teachers on their short-term business trip have been able to provide approximately 100 pupils with general information about studying Japanese language.
