The scientific and methodical round table "Innovative technologies of teaching Chinese in higher educational institutions of Kazakhstan"

In November 2018, the Department of Chinese Studies, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University organized a scientific and methodical round table "Innovative technologies of teaching Chinese in higher educational institutions of Kazakhstan". The event was attended by the Consul General of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Almaty, Mr. Zhang Wei, and representatives of Chinese educational institutions in Almaty. During the round table teachers of Almaty educational institutions that study Chinese, such as Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, Abylay Khan Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages, Kazakh State Women's Pedagogical University, University named after Suleyman Demirel, an international Kazakhstan-Chinese college and with the director of the Confucius Institute in Almaty discussed a new methodology for teaching Chinese language and learning difficulties. In connection with the deepening of cooperation in the field of education in the framework of the “One Belt, One Road” program implemented by the PRC, the study of Chinese in Kazakhstan is in great demand every day. To strengthen the friendly relations between the two countries held various activities. This roundtable also addressed this issue. In his speech, the Consul General of the Republic of China, Mr. Zhang Wei, called on the youth of Kazakhstan to study in China, learn Chinese language and culture in order to gather knowledge and practice a little and in the future to contribute to the development of Kazakhstan. In addition, the Consulate General stressed that university professors will support typing, research, and textbooks to China to improve their knowledge and experience.

Roundtable participants on various issues of teaching Chinese in Kazakhstan expressed their willingness to cooperate with each other. It was emphasized that such measures contributed to strengthening relations between teachers of the Chinese language, solving common problems and achieving positive results in the educational process. At the end of the event, the participants of the round table made a memorable photo with Consul General Zhang Wei.
