Intellectual competition on country studies about China

   During the period from November 29 to 30, “New Silk Road - the road to the hearts of the people” the 2nd China's national conditions knowledge competition was jointly organized by the Chinese Consulate General in Almaty, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and Confucius Institute at Al- Farabi Kazakh National University. The competition was composed of 2 rounds. In the first round of written examinations, there were 80 Chinese learners from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Abylai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages, Abai Normal University, International Kazakh-Chinese College, and many other universities. Eventually 10 students entered the finals.

The competition invited First Vice-Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Burkitbayev M.M., Mr. Zhang Wei, Consul General of the Chinese Consulate General in Almaty, Mr. Guo Xinqiao, Deputy Consul General, and Mr. Wang Qingping, Consul of Cultural Tourism, Representative of the administration of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University: Duisebayev D. K., Director of Confucius Institute at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University: Asylbekov Rakhimzhan Uzenbekovich ,Deuty of Oriental Studies, Paltore Y.M. Champion Ahmetova Anel is fourth-year student of the Chinese Studies Department of the Oriental Studies Faculty. She received a scholarship from the Consulate General to study in China.
