Competition for the best essay on the topic “Silk Road, Young Dreams”

The Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Almaty, together with the universities of the Consular District, the Confucius Institute and the community of Chinese students, conducted a monetary prize contest for the best essay on the theme “Silk Road, Young Dreams” within the framework of the five-year anniversary of the One Belt and One Road initiative.


The content of the essay was directed to the friendship of the peoples of China and Kazakhstan, to the history of the creation of the Economic Belt “One Belt - One Road” in China and Kazakhstan, to cooperation between China and Kazakhstan in terms of humanitarian education. The essay was aimed at supporting the younger generation of the “One Belt - One Road” initiative, at the interest of the young generation in studying in China, and at preserving friendship between China and Kazakhstan.
The working languages ​​are Kazakh, Russian or Chinese. Restrictions on the style and number of words was not limited.
For each of the languages ​​one first place was awarded (award worth 200,000 tenge for each winner), two second places (award worth 125,000 tenge for each winner), three third places (award worth 75,000 tenge for each winner), 30 nominations of the best works (award in the amount of 25 000 tenge for each prize-winner), also the prize-winners were awarded with certificates. The winner of the essay contest was awarded a grand prix in the amount of 300,000 tenge and received a recommendation from the scholarship program of the Chinese government to study in China.

In the nomination for the best works won the 4th year student Akhmetova Anel and the 2nd year doctoral student Beysenbayev Olzhas.
