The article of the First President of the country N. Nazarbayev "a View to the future: modernization of public consciousness" touches on the issues of spiritual modernization of the country. At present, capitalist States are developing at a special pace,but despite the fact that this is good, on the other hand, they have forgotten their inner value-spiritual development. Therefore, the head of state stressed that in order to fill these gaps, it is necessary to modernize the spiritual wealth, enriching it with spiritual values. As the head of state said, our national traditions,customs, language, music and literature should never be forgotten. All national values are passed on to the younger generation from the family, school, and kindergarten. Therefore, parents and teachers should put national education at the forefront. In pursuance of the President's Address, a lot of work has been done at the al-Farabi Kazakh national University.

The "rukhani zhangyru" program was offered to the modern Kazakh society in 2017. Leader of the nation N. A. Nazarbayev in his article "Looking to the future: modernization of public consciousness" which aimed modern youth at preserving the national values of Kazakhstan, awareness of spiritual identity and development of these values for integration into the modern world.

            For three years, teachers of the faculty of pre-University education provided lot of work to implement this program.

            Foreign students from all over the world study at the department of language and General education of foreigners. They study Kazakh and Russian languages. Students do not randomly choose the al-Farabi Kazakh national University. They know that here they can get a high-quality higher education, which is the Foundation for modernizing modern society. The faculty is very interested in country studies lessons, where students learn about the history of Kazakhstan, sights, spiritual values and traditions of Kazakhs and other peoples living in Kazakhstan.

            The traditional celebration of Nauryz is held with great interest, where students can hear Kazakh songs, try Kazakh national dishes at the festive dastarkhan, participate in traditional competitions. Many foreign students study play the dombra and enjoy taking part in concerts.

            Interest in the Kazakh language has increased. Teachers of the Department teach the Kazakh language using modern intensive methods. The Department has very good results. For 1 year, students achieve excellent results, master the Kazakh language, while learning Russian.

            Teachers of the Department prepared a textbook of the Kazakh language, methodological materials and manuals on the Kazakh and Russian languages.

Switching to the Latin alphabet of the Kazakh language will facilitate its perception for foreign students. But this is a very thorough and painstaking work that requires professionalism.

On April 7-8, 2020 Faculty of Pre-University Education held the International scientific conference of students and young scientists "Farabi alemi" within the VII International Farabi readings. All of the processes were carried out by distance.

In connection with the emergency situation in the country since March 16 the Faculty of Pre-University Education of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University switched to distance learning mode.

For foreign listeners and students on the “Zoom” platform, online lectures are holding in the state language, Russian and English languages. As well as for conducting classes, the UNIVER information and software complex is used.

Under the leadership of the faculty, in order to successfully implement the educational process in emergency situations, systematic work is underway with the teachers of the department to establish educational, scientific, and educational work. At the request of our listeners and students, using programs in the Zoom, WһatsApp, Skype and WeChat systems on the Internet, creating a chat group, classes are held regularly. Our students try to take on deep responsibility and strictly perform tasks. The difficulty of the Online lesson prevents the improper delay of the Internet when holding conferences through Zoom, interruption of listeners from the network.

But, nevertheless, thanks to the capabilities of modern technologies in teaching, knowledge is improved. Teachers conduct classes in a timely manner in accordance with the approved curriculum, curators call their groups on the Internet.

March 3, 2020 teachers and foreign students whose studying the Kazakh language of the Faculty of pre-University education together with foreign students from Abay University held a flash mob dedicated to the 175 years anniversary of the great Abay.

Profession-oriented school of Faculty of pre-university education was held the annual VII school scientific-practical conference on "Young al-Farabi" dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of al-Farabi on 14 of February 2020. On the conference took part participants from wholly Republic. 

On January 28, 2020, in the assembly hall of the faculty of pre-university education, a master class "Development of the educational and methodological complex in the discipline based on the expected learning outcomes" was held. Conducted a master class: Kozhamkulov Zh.T., Mangazbaeva R.A., Nazarbekova S.T., Zhakupova G.T.

On January 23, 2020, the meeting of employees of the "Smart health" medical center with foreign students of the faculty of pre-University education was organized on the topic: "Coronavirus infection: prevention measures and rules of behavior in case of detection of symptoms of the disease". Medical professionals focused on prevention measures, as well as rules of conduct in case of detection of symptoms of the disease.

During the period 06.01- 11.01.2020 at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held the 48th traditional sports contest on "Health" among teachers, other employees and doctoral students. The program of the games included such sports as badminton, volleyball, chess, togyzkumalak, table tennis, mini football. Team of the faculty of pre-university education took an active part and achieved good results.

In 18.12.2019, as part of the project “Aynalakady Nurlandyr” was held a competition in sports games "Healthy, healthy soul" for the students of faculty of pre-university education of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University In all sports listeners formed an intergroup team and played interesting games. Organized person was teacher of the faculty Sandykbayeva Urikkul. Competitions in such sports as checkers, chess, football, hand-to-hand wrestling, togyz kumalak, volleyball. The winning teams were awarded prizes and certificates. Almost all extracurricular activities are aimed at attracting students to work, to guide them in the effective use of free time.
