CHAIR HISTORY

The history of the department of language training and general education of foreigners of the Faculty of pre-university education began in 1985.

     In the teaching and research work of the department are 5 doctors of science, 10 candidates of science - specialists in teaching the Kazakh and Russian languages ​​as foreign.Teachers of the department regularly undergo internships and improve their qualifications in universities of Kazakhstan and Russia,go abroad to participate in international scientific conferences.  The members of the department worked in the universities of China, South Korea, India, Laos, Afghanistan, etc.

The main direction of the department’s work is linguistic and general education training of foreigners, depending on the objectives of training.

Language training is stratified as follows:

a) the initial level for non-university students (A1-A2);

b) an advanced level for entering higher education institutions (B1-B2);

c) advanced level for non-university students (B1-B2)

     In 1985, in the KazNU. Al-Farabi Department of RCT appeared (Russian as a foreign language). To work at the department were invited graduates of the University of Friendship of Peoples. Patrice Lumumba (UDN) - S.K. Gaivoron, A.V. Druz, V.V. Krivenko, E.K. Nurmukhambetov, MSU graduates - A.S. Aitpaeva, I.G. Zhulamanova, I.V. Kildyushova, LSU - T.A. Shukhovtsova, graduated from the graduate school at the Moscow Pedagogical Institute. N.K. Krupskaya Candidate of Philological Sciences U.K. Valeeva, a graduate of the University of Abakan - L.V. Ekshembeev and Kyrgyz University - I.I. Sapronova, as well as young and promising teachers of the KazNU and other universities of Alma-Ata: L.А. Kataeva, J.A. Nurshaikhova, E.M. Stepanova, L.S. Torokhtiy and others. The composition of the teachers was completely international.

     Graduates of the UDN, who worked in the department and whose specialty was Russian as a foreign language, taught the rest of the department the basics of the new methodology. The training of the first students, mainly from Africa and the Southeast, was the initial step in teaching the RCTs of the current veterans of the department. If the RCT as a scientific field already existed in Russia for many years, for Kazakhstan it was new. It was necessary to develop in the local conditions of bi- and multilingualism in the presence of extralinguistic factors associated with political, economic, cultural, mental and other changes in the life of the republic of the late 20th - early 21st centuries.

    In 2007, the staff of the department completely updated the programs on RCTs and KazKIs and released a collection of Curriculums not only in these disciplines, but also in aspects studied at the preparatory faculty. Programs in Russian and Kazakh languages ​​are based on the Educational Standards and are close to the main provisions of the European language portfolio. The principle implemented in the programs of the algorithmized organization of training materials for RCTs and KazKIs creates ample opportunities for work in the student audience. These Programs can be described as new types of programs designed to meet the requirements of modern applied linguistics and linguodidactics.

     Currently, the department has a scientific and methodical school to study issues of mastering non-native language. 3 doctoral and 9 master's theses can be called the scientific and methodological basis for mastering a second language. The results of scientific work of teachers of the department are used in textbooks, teaching aids for foreigners and in classes on RCTs, KazKI. Collective monographs of the department, collections of scientific and methodological works, a collection of copyright technologies in the teaching of languages ​​are indisputable confirmation of the scientific and creative approach to teaching KazKI and RCT by the staff of the department.


     The author's techniques developed by the teachers of the department are actively used in the classroom:

1. structuring a simple sentence at the initial stage;

2. algorithmic presentation of grammatical material;

3. use of modules of behavioral stereotypes, thematic situations;

4. modeling of the communicative space;

5. the use of the integrative method of engaging the speaker in the process of learning a language by activating its abilities;

6. interactive techniques.

     The department develops along with the traditional (IPK) and new forms of advanced training. So, to improve the pedagogical skills of young teachers in the department, there is a Scientific and Methodological Seminar "Traditions and innovations in modern methods of teaching disciplines in a foreign audience", which discusses, in particular, the following topics: "Project method of teaching", "Lesson analysis and assessment Russian language in a foreign audience "," Technology portfolio "," The use of computer technology in the teaching of RCTs, KazKI and other disciplines "," The structure of the lesson "," The creation and use of electronic manuals Russian language "etc. The topics discussed are relevant and are a reflection of new projects being introduced into the educational process.
