In the period of April 6-8, at the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics, the international scientific conference of students and young scientists "Farabi Alemi" was held online.

April 12 marks three years since the announcement by the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev, of the program for the modernization of public consciousness – «Rukhani Zhangiru». Over these years, the program has become the basis of a new ideological platform and a powerful mechanism has been launched to modernize all spheres of life in Kazakhstani society.

In the difficult period for the whole country, more than 50 undergraduates and doctoral students of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Care of Al-Farabi KazNU, who hold a doctor’s certificate, are at the forefront of the fight against coronavirus. By working in hospitals that accept infected and contact people, they help defeat the deadly virus.

The researchers of Al-Farabi KazNU have developed an antiseptic, which can be used in medical practice and in prevention of coronavirus.

The Department of Health Policy and Management of Al-Farabi KazNU does not stand by in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic and helped colleagues with masks sewn by their own hands.

10 students of Al-Farabi KazNU have been awarded the scholarship of the Russian University of Peoples’ Friendship (RUDN) «TOP STUDENT MOBILITY» for brilliant performance in their studies and research work.

On March 31^st, 2020, the commission chaired by Mr. Vlastimil Samek, Representative of the UN Department of Global Communications, has made the conclusions of the Republican Olympiad on Regional studies, held remotely and organized by the International Relations and World Economy Department of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

Republican competition, organized by Al-Farabi KazNU, has been a significant platform throughout the country for eight years. The competition is aimed at the development of patriotism, civic responsibility, intellectual and creative potential of youth.

Students of Physical & Technical Cluster of Al-Farabi KazNU have developed a face recognition and monitoring system - Machine Vision that is based on the use of deep learning neural networks. Currently, the University is in the process of introducing this modern technology in the campus of Al-Farabi Smart University.

According to the plan of pedagogical practice, it is envisaged that undergraduates - trainees will conduct several lectures, seminars and laboratory classes for undergraduate students in subjects of relevant specialties.
