Director of the Center for Sustainable Development of the Earth Institute at Columbia University Dr. Yanis Ben Amor visited Al-Farabi KazNU within the framework of the MDP Global Classroom Program. The guest has met with the leadership of the University, participated in a campus tour and in a round table entitled «Pressing Issues on Global Health».

Students of  Al-Farabi KAZNU held a flash mob and organized a trip to the theater as part of the project «Qayirymdy Qogam». Thanks to this initiative, the University students from a socially vulnerable group were able to watch the comedy «Olzha» at G. Musrepov Kazakh State Academic Theater for Children and Youth.

Rector of Al-Farabi KazNU academician Galym Mutanov has been honored with international award in India. This was announced at the INBUSH ERA-2020 World Summit «The Challenge of Change: Strategies for Managing Business in Technology Driven Societies», which was held at Amity University in Noida.

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and «Kazakh Radiosy» LLP have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation that determined the main areas of joint activity.

On February 20, 2020, at 17:00 pm, the Day of the Department of Print and Electronic Media was held in the Assembly Hall of the Student House # 15 of the Journalism Faculty. 

Students of the Military Department of Al-Farabi KazNU,  outstanding students Aruzhan Zhailkanova and Yelshat Toyekin participated in the youth cooperation program between Kazakhstan and India and events dedicated to the Republic Day of India.

The Republican scientific and practical round table «Al-Farabi-Abai: Issues of Spiritual Continuity», dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of Al-Farabi and the 175th anniversary of Abai was held at Al-Farabi KazNU.

International Conference «Modernization of Engineering Education in the Central Asian region in the context of digitalization» was held at Al-Farabi KazNU.

The events dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of Al-Farabi has been launched in India. Al-Farabi KazNU, with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in India and the Jawaharlal Nehru University, held a Round table in New Delhi dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of Abu Nasr Al-Farabi.

The section entitled «New Information and Educational Technologies in the Educational Process» has started its work  at the Faculty of Journalism in the framework of the 50th international scientific-methodological conference «Modern Interpretation of the Pedagogical Concept of Al-Farabi in the Context of Digitalization of Education», which was held at KazNU.
