The celebration of the 1150th anniversary of Abu Nasr Al-Farabi has been launched in KazNU. A significant day has started with the presentation of «Al-Farabi Center». The event was attended by the State Secretary of the Republic of Kazakhstan Krymbek Kusherbaev.

The State Secretary of the Republic of Kazakhstan Krymbek Kusherbayev awarded state scholarships of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy in the field of culture for 2019, at the Al-Farabi Center.

Al-Farabi KazNU held a ceremony for awarding scholarships of international organization «TURKSOY» to students of 1-3 courses of Department of TURKSOY, Faculty of Oriental Studies.

Students of Al-Farabi KazNU have held a grand flash mob, marking the launch of the «QAYIRIMDY QOGAM» challenge, the goal of which is to make society, as Al-Farabi said, virtuous.

In Almaty, official ceremony to launch the celebration of the 1150th anniversary of Abu Nasr Al-Farabi will be held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University on January 29, 2020. The anniversary year of Al-Farabi, which is widely being celebrated internationally under the auspices of UNESCO will bring together guests from more than 40 countries.

Al-Faarbi International Olympiad has been launched at Al-Farabi KazNU among students of 11-12 grades from the CIS countries, near and far abroad and the Republic of Kazakhstan, dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of the great scientist.

Ambassador Hour has been held at the Department of Turksoy, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Al-Farabi KazNU, which is devoted to strengthening of friendly relations between the peoples of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, and to promote the dissemination of culture of Turkic-speaking countries.

Al-Farabi KazNU has been actively implementing the program «Invitation of Foreign Scientists and Specialists». In order to give lectures and conduct joint scientific research, Professor of the Jyväskylä Business School (Finland), Ayzhaz Sheikh, visited the University.

On January 21, 2020, an impact monitoring of the Erasmus+ project "Strengthening the integration of higher education and the corporate sector in accordance with the new social environment - ENINEDU" was held at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
