The international scientific-practical conference «The Role of the President of Tajikistan in Solving Global Problems: Water is the Source of Life» was held at the scientific library of Al-Farabi KazNU, which discussed current issues of water security.

The Faculty of History, Archeology and Ethnology, with the support of the branch of the «Ak Zhol» Democratic Party in Almaty, as well as members of the U38 University Alliance of Ethnographers Club, rewarded young historians, who won in the competition entitled «Legacy of the Great Steppe»  at the library of Al-Farabi KazNU.

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted an on-line student Olympiad on the subject «Legal framework for combating corruption», which was attended by students of higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan and foreign countries.

At the Youth Forum, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has announced an increase in scholarships to University students and colleges from January 2020 by 25%. Al-Farabi Kazakh National University supports the current and timely initiative of the Head of state.

Dmitry Balandin has brought the second medal to the Kazakhstani swimming team.

The competition "Best by profession" among employees of the al-Farabi Kazakh national University, dedicated To the independence day of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was held for the eighth time to identify the best employees of the Kazakh national University from among the support staff. The competition is organized by the Parasat trade Union of employees of al-Farabi Kazakh national University together with the heads of departments.

Dmitry Balandin, a student of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has won a Gold Medal at the open swimming championship in Atlanta (USA).

«Tsoi Jae Hyun Memorial Association» scholarship award ceremony was held at Al-Farabi  KazNU.

The Faculty of Medicine and Health Care of Al-Farabi KazNU actively develops scientific direction, responding to the high demands of society, which requires medical personnel and health professionals of the new formation.

The presentation of the project of Ban Ki-moon Institute for Sustainable Development on the topic «Smart cities Along the Silk Road»: International experience in sustainable urban development» was held at Al-Farabi KazNU. The project has been realized jointly with the UNESCO Development for Sustainable Development, the UN Academic Impact Global Hub on Sustainability and the MDP / Global Classroom Program (a joint program with the Earth Institute of Columbia University (USA) and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.
