In Almaty, the leading University of the country - Al-Farabi KazNU hosts events of world significance, which are aimed at improving the competitiveness of domestic higher education and the export potential of educational services.

The Panel Section «Strategy for the Excellence of Higher Education: Research, Education and Social Responsibility» was held at Al-Farabi KazNU in the framework of the Global University Summit aimed at improving the competitiveness of domestic higher education and the export potential of educational services.

An International Student Festival was held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

Events dedicated to the Chuseok holiday and «Meeting between Sonbe and Hube» were held at the Division of Korean Studies of the Department of the Far East, Faculty of Oriental Studies of KazNU.

In order to implement the state program «Rukhani Zhangiru» and the article «Seven Faces of the Great Steppe» Elbasy N.A. Nazarbayev, a delegation from Kazakhstan, in preparation for the celebration of the 1150th anniversary of the great thinker Abu Nasr Al-Farabi, visited Damascus (Syria). The visit took place thanks to the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Lebanon and the Honorary Ambassador of the Republic of Syria to Kazakhstan.

Training seminar for employees of the social responsibility system «Towards a Virtuous Society: Inclusion of Social Responsibility for the Activities of the Social and Humanitarian Centers of Universities» (USRN) have started its work at Al-Farabi KazNU.

The delegation of students, undergraduates and doctoral students of Waseda University of Japan, headed by Professor Ogihara Atsushi visited the Department of the Far East of Al-Farabi KazNU as part of the Summer School.

The Republican Scientific-Practical Conference «Society. Education. Personality» and the presentation of a book from the series «Onegeli Omir», dedicated to the 100th anniversary of a prominent statesman and public figure, World War II veteran Kataev Turganbek Kataevich was held at the Faculty of History, Archeology and Ethnology of Al-Farabi KazNU.
