Professors Dr. Edgar Sokolovskij and Dr. Jonas Matijošius from Vilnius Technical University Gediminas (Lithuania) visited the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Al-Farabi KazNU within the ERASMUS + program.

Al-Farabi KazNU and the Egyptian International University (EIU) have signed an Agreement on the opening of a branch of the Kazakhstani University in Cairo. This was made possible by a visit at the beginning of the year by Rector of the leading Kazakhstani University, academician Galym Mutanov, and the agreements have been reached with the leadership of the Ministry of Higher Education and Science of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

According to a study of the authoritative world ranking the «Times Higher Education» (THE), Al-Farabi KazNU, the only HEI in Kazakhstan, to enter the group of 251-300 best Universities in Asia.

On May 2, 2019, a meeting with the participation of representatives of the Malaysian company ZICO Shariah Advisory Services, the International Financial Center, the Higher School of Economics and Business and the Center for Islamic Finance was held in the framework of cooperation between AIFC and KazNU on the development of Islamic finance in Kazakhstan.

Almaty hosted the "Kazakh-Korean Business Conference on B2B - Business to Business 2019", where new mechanisms for the development of Small and medium-sized businesses were presented.

«Open Day» was held at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The purpose of the event is to acquaint schoolchildren of Almaty with the peculiarities of studying at the faculty and providing detailed information on admission to the University.
