Rector of Al-Farabi KazNU, academician Galym Mutanov commented on the decision of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev on holding early elections of the President of Kazakhstan.

In the framework of the VI «Farabi Readings» International Forum, lectures by foreign professors from the University of Lorraine (France) and Karadeniz Technical University Trabson (Turkey) were held at the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology of Al-Farabi KazNU. Students and academic staff of the faculty participated at the lecture of biologists, and they have obtained the answers to their questions of interest on the preservation of the soil and the environment.

On April 8, 2019, the Ceremony of awarding the title of Honorary Doctor of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University to Professor Muhammad Iqbal Choudhury for his significant contribution to the development of chemical science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and for fruitful 20-year collaboration between the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences of the University of Karachi (Pakistan) and Al-Farabi KazNU, was held at Al-Farabi KazNU.

Al-Farabi KazNU hold the 1st International Congress on Laboratory Medicine: «Laboratory Diagnostics in Clinical Medicine: Traditions and Innovations» as a part of the VI Farabi Readings, organized by the Faculty of Medicine and Health of Al-Farabi KazNU together with NGO «Central Asian Association of Medical Laboratory Diagnostics and Expertise», ALE «Association of Laboratory Medicine and Expertise» and the Department of Laboratory Diagnostics of «NMU».

On April 10, Al-Farabi KazNU will host the International Scientific Conference entitled «Symbols, Artifacts, and Monuments of Culture of the Great Steppe», dedicated to the 2-year anniversary of the launch of the «Ruhani Zhangiru» program on modernization of public consciousness.

Graduate students of the specialty «Mechanics» of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Al-Farabi KazNU - Azamat Askar, Abilkas Akmarzhan, Bolysbek Durezhat and Erdesh Yelnar undertook an internship at the AGH University of Science and Technology (Krakow, Poland) under the program «Modern Methods in Design and Manufacturing».

Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Tlekkabul Ramazanov has met with Professor Muhammad Iqbal Chowdhary from the Research Institute of Chemistry, University of Karachi (Pakistan) at Al-Farabi KazNU.

The final championship of the Smart Student’s Project of the student project «Sunkar Cup» was held at the U. Zholdasbekov Students' Palace of Al-Farabi KazNU in the framework of the project «Ruhani Zhangiru». The following teams – «Akpen birge», «Everest», «Fiztekh», «Brand», and «Muzykanttyn Koyn daptery» were named as the finalists of the competition.

On April 3, an International Youth Online Conference entitled: «Do Students Need Media Literacy?», was held at Al-Farabi KazNU, within the framework of the VI International Farabi Readings and with the support of a joint project of the US Embassy in Kazakhstan.

Professor of the Department of theoretical and nuclear physics, faculty of physics and technology of KazNU named after al-Farabi, academician of the National Academy of Sciences, doctor of physics and mathematics Nurgali Takibayev recently celebrated his 75th anniversary.
