In Almaty, in the framework of the «Sanaly Urpaq» project, the lecture groups of Al-Farabi KazNU continued its activities.

The tradition of the annual International Farabi readings on the basis of Al-Farabi KazNU, which is an open platform for discussion of current scientific, political and social problems in various areas of development of society.The framework of the Farabi readings at 10.00 held IV discussion platform "Parties and party systems: the experience of post-Soviet States." The discussion platform was attended by master's students, doctoral students, teachers of the Department of political Sciences and political technologies.

In order to implement the tasks set in the program article of the first president of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.A. Nazarbayev's «Seven Facets of the Great Steppe» in the framework of the VI international «Farabian readings» at the al-Farabi Kazakh National University international scientific-practical conference «Botai culture and other eneolithic monuments of Central Asia» started by the research institute «Archeology and steppe civilizations» faculty of History, archeology and ethnology.

The International Scientific and Practical Conference “The Spiritual Heritage of Al-Farabi and the Modern East” was held at the Faculty of Oriental Studies of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in the framework of the VI Farabi readings from April 2-12, 2019.

At the invitation of the Japanese side, the delegation of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University headed by the First Vice-Rector of the KazNU Mukhambetkali Burkitbayev visited the University of Tsukuba (Japan). The delegation took part in the workshop «The 1st SDGs Research Workshop on the Nippon-Foundation Central Asia-Japan Human Resource Development Project (NPCA Project)».

Kazakh National University 26 Master degree students are undertaking a scientific internship at the University of Oxford, №1 university in the list of Times Higher Education World University Ranking.

As invited professors, Chun Byong-Soon and Myong Soon-ok in the Department of Far East Studies, Faculty of Oriental Studies, visited for special lectures to the undergraduate, master, and doctorate students in the School of Humanity of Eastern Finland University (EFU, Finland, March 22); in the Faculty of Philology of University of Complutense Madrid (UCM, Spain, March 25) from 20-28 March, 2019.

Within the VI International Farabian Readings, the Farabi International Forum “Al-Farabi and Modernity” was held in the library of al-Farabi KazNU on April 2-3, 2019. Among the six sections that worked, there was the section "Classification of the sciences of al-Farabi and current problems of modern natural science". The section was moderated by the Dean of the Faculty of Information Technologies U. Tukeev, as well as the Head of the Department of General and Inorganic Chemistry R. Nadirov.

The delegation of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, dean of the faculty of Oriental Studies Yktiyar Paltore, director of the center of “Written Materials and Cultural Heritage” Zubayda Shadkam, Head of the Department of Religious and Cultural Studies Ainur Kurmanaliyeva and teachers of the faculty of Oriental Studies Shynar Kaliyeva, Kaldybai Kydyrbayev have made a special business trip to the world-renowned al-Azhar University in Egypt and worked on developing partnerships to integrate into the world educational space.

In Almaty, on April 1 and 2, the Faculty of Medicine and Health of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, with the support of Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - Elbasy, held an international conference "Respiratory Junction Almaty: Where East meets West". The event was held in the framework of the annual forum "VI International Farabian Readings"
