The Department of Diplomatic Translation of the Faculty of International Relations held an International Scientific-Methodical Seminar «Modern Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages and Translation».

Student of Al-Farabi KazNU Zhanbota Aldabergenova has brought the first medal to the Kazakhstan’s bag, by winning a bronze at the World Winter Universiade, which has been taking place in Krasnoyarsk (Russia).

KazNU traditionally hosted the Japanese Speech Contest in Kazakhstan.

A unique webinar «Prospects for online study in waste management training» was held at KazNU within the framework of the Erasmus + project «Improving Competence in Sustainable Waste Management in Training Specialists in Russian and Kazakh Universities» EduEnvi.

At the Faculty of Medicine and Health of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University the eighth meeting of the scientific club “Journal Club” was held, where participants with PhD- student of the scientific and pedagogical direction of the 1st course A.I.Zhumanov conducted a critical analysis of the scientific publication on the diagnostic accuracy and medical -economic efficiency of screening methods for colorectal cancer. 

According to the results of the «QS World University Ranking by Subject 2019» Al-Farabi KazNU became the first among the Universities of the CIS countries to enter the top 51-100 HEI’s in the world in the specialty of «Modern Linguistics», rising by 50 positions. In total, six specialties of the leading Kazakhstani University have been listed in this ranking.

On February 23, 2019, the closing ceremony of the republican seminar "Modern methods of teaching the Arabic language" was held at the Islamic University Nur-Mubarak. The seminar was planned to be held from February 16 to February 23, 2019 in Al-Farabi Kazakh National University together with the Islamic-Egyptian University Nur-Mubarak and the Egyptian Cultural Center.
