Al-Farabi KazNU launched a unique project «100 Interesting Facts about Almaty», initiated by the Club of Ethnographers of the Alliance of Universities «U 38»as part of the «Ruhani Zhangiru» program.

Within the framework of the “Spiritual revival” program, the Department of Japanese Studies at Far East Department (Faculty of Oriental Studies), held an extended curatorial hour “The Experience of Academic Mobility".

Rector of KazNU Galym Mutanov received the COMSATS delegation, headed by Executive Director Syed Muhammad Junaid Zaid. After greeting the delegation and expressing gratitude for visit, Rector expressed his confidence in further fruitful cooperation, including joint scientific projects, internships, courses for improvements of qualifications, trainings of specialists. Galym Mutanov invited the COMSATS delegation to take part in the celebrations dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of Al-Farabi.

On March 19, 2018, the Department of Political Science and Political Technologies held a meeting with the Doctor of Political Sciences N.Kalashnikova.

05.04.2018 at the al-Farabi Kazakh National University at the Faculty of History, Archeology and Ethnology, the Department of World History, Historiography and Source Studies organized a meeting with archivists of the Russian Federation. 

In February-April 2018, third-year students of the specialty "Management", the Department of Management and Marketing of the High School of Economics and Business of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, took part in an annual student online Olympiad on project management "Kvazar" organized by the Project Management Evaluation and Development Center and the Analytical Center under the Government of the Russian Federation.

At April 4, 2018 European Information Center of International relations faculty, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University held international conference «Kazakhstan-EU cooperation: modern tendencies and perspectives», dedicated to 25^th anniversary of Diplomatic relations between Kazakhstan and EU and 20^th anniversary of European Information Center’s establishment at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

The XXI Meeting of the Coordination Council of the Commission on Science and Technology for Sustainable Development in the South («COMSATS») was held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, Almaty. The Council of this international intergovernmental organization meets for the first time in Kazakhstan and the post-Soviet space.

The Department of Biomedical Statistics and Evidence Medicine of the Medical Faculty of the Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi with the support of the Public Fund "International Medical Fund" Severance-KZ " has been organized a research internship from March 24 to April 2, 2018 for masters for the specialty "6M110200-Public Health". The research internship was devoted to the topic "Hospital Management".

The Department of the Far East a year ago initiated negotiations with the participation of the First Vice-Rector M. Burkitbayev, where an agreement was reached on cooperation with the University of Bunkyou Gakuin (Japan).
