November 8, 2011 at the Faculty of International Relations of Kazakh National University. Al-Farabi was a video lecture by Professor A.H.Arystanbekova on "Globalization of world politics" for undergraduates.
A.H.Arystanbekova the first woman ambassador in the history of Kazakhstan, the first Permanent Representative to the UN RC, Ambassador at Large of the Foreign Ministry. The organizer of the video lectures leadership of faculty of international relations and chair of international relations and world economy, with technical support of TVstudio of KazNU.
A. Arystanbekova placed special emphasis on the concept of globalization, its interpretation of the western and eastern scholars. Bole was examined in detail the research work of Professor K. Ohmae Japanese and others.
11/8/2011 "We are for a clean city"
Students of the Faculty "Geography and Nature Management" took an active part in environmental action in conjunction with akimat of Almaty and Kazecology organization which was on November 3, 2011. This action was part of the program "We are for a clean city".

October 29th, 2011 at the Faculty of International Relations of KazNU named after Al-Farabi the meeting was held with a career diplomat Ruben Azizyan, the professor of the Asian-Pacific Security Center in Honolulu (Hawaii). The Ambassador's hour was organized by Diplomatic club "Talleyrand."
The meeting was held in an interactive format of communication. During it Mr. Azizyan dedicated students at certain instants of personal biography, including his training at IGIIR, where he received his basic diplomatic skills. Ruben Azizian is fluent in Armenian, Russian and English, as well as in a rare Sinhalese language. Interesting and informative was a story about the phased establishment of his diplomatic career. From the students of a course, where he was to learn later, came a galaxy of brilliant professionals, among which he could note the Minister of Foreign Affairs of RF- Sergey Lavrov. It was nice to hear that Mr. Ruben Azizyan likes Kazakhstan for a special flavor and visit our country with the great pleasure.
He spoke fondly of a Kassymzhomart Tokayev, saying that it is the first diplomat from Central Asia, who took over as the General Director in the United Nations’ Office at Geneva.
The department of International RelationsheldInternational seminar for the students and masters "Eurasian strategy: theory and practice" with participation of foreign professors as T. Tanaka (Research center on Central Asian problems, Japan), S. Konopacki (university in Poland) and T. Dadabayev (Tsukuba University, Japan) in October 22, 2011.
Students and masters made reports on such topics as the Eurasian idea on the Kazakhstani foreign policy and perspectives of Eurasian Economic Community. Also it was interesting to discuss the opinion of professors concerning Eurasian strategy.
The department of International Relationsof the Al-Farabi Kazakh National Universitytogether with the "Al-Farabi Carnegie"scientific andeducational projectfor Central Asia held a roundtable "The 20th anniversary of independence of the Republicof Kazakhstan:Achievements and Challenges" in October 22, 2011.
Roundtableheldon the base of International Relations department by the active support of the Institute ofParliamentarismof Public DemocraticParty "NurOtan"and was dedicatedto the opening start of "Al-Farabi Carnegie"scientific andeducational project for Central Asia.
The aim ofthe project is to promotean open dialoguebetween educational and research institutions, political institutions, businessleaders, the governments of Kazakhstan, Central Asian statesand the international communityon a wide rangeof issues of regionaland international security,nonproliferation policy,regional economy and trade,environment and energy.
Roundtable, entitled "Prospects and role of Kazakhstan in CSTO and SCO" was held on October 21 at the Department of International Relations. The Organizers of the roundtable were the Resource and Information Centre on NATO at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University and the Institute for Security and Cooperation Problems.
The roundtable was attended by a number of leadinf kazakhstani and foreign experts, featuring professor Roger N. McDermott from University of Kent at Canterbury (UK) and professor Yves Janclos from University of Strasbourg (France), etc.
October 19th, 2011at the Facultyof International Relationsin KazNU named after Al-Farabi was held a meetingwith YacekKlyuchkevski ExtraordinaryandPlenipotentiary Ambassador ofthe Republic of Polandin the Republic ofKazakhstanand the Kyrgyz Republic. The Ambassador'shour was organizedbyDiplomaticclub "Talleyrand."
At the beginning ofthe meeting, Mr.Ambassadorbriefly described the statehoodof Poland,fightof poles for their independence,as well as currentpolitical and economic situation of PolandinEurope andon the world stage, the evolution ofrelations between Kazakhstanand Poland in theeconomic sphere to thestudents.
During the meeting,Dean of theFaculty of International Relationsput forwarda offering to createin the futurePolishInformation Resource Centerwith the assistance ofthe Embassy of Poland on the faculty,which couldsupervise activities of students wishingto learn the language, history and cultureof the Polish people, andwould carry outa variety ofeducational programsfor academicexchange for the students.

Al-Farabi KazNU Students’ Team studying at the Department of Recreation Geography and Tourism, the Faculty of Geography and Nature Management, has won in its class the first team place in the Traditional Tourists Competition "Golden Autumn", arranged by the Main Office of Tourism, Physical Culture and Sport of Almaty and the Federation of Sport Tourism. The team awarded by the Colden Cup and the participants by the medals and certificates. Al Farabi KazNU delegation consisted of about 100 persons and was the most numerous among tourist groups of the city.

Al Farabi Kazakh National University was invited to be a Lead University along with Trinity College Dublin & University College Dublin for next Tuesday, Oct. 4th's discussion on Ethics and Human Rights.
Mary Robinson, Former President of Ireland and United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, will be the Global Discussion leader.
