Al-Farabi Kazakh National University was visited by a delegation of the European Parliament. The guests of honor met with scientists, representatives of the faculty and students of the university.

Today, a solemn meeting was held at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, timed to coincide with the celebration of the Day of Science Workers. The event was attended by the Chairman of the Board - Rector of KazNU named after Al-Farabi Zhanseit Tuymebayev, President of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Zhurinov, university faculty and young scientists.

Today, the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, attaches particular importance to the continuous development of science, support for promising scientific research and increasing the intellectual potential of our people.

UniSat is a joint project of UNICEF and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. It aims to develop STEM-education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) among girls through the development of educational courses on nanosatellites.

Today, a citywide subbotnik was held in Almaty. The staff of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University also took an active part in the cleanliness campaign.

The solemn opening of a memorial plaque in honor of the famous scientist, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Kulzhabay Kasymov took place in Almaty.

Today, the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is the only Kazakh university that is included in the top 200 best universities in the world. Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, which took 175th place in the world ranking of QS, is the only Kazakh university that is included in the top 200 best universities in the world.

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University in cooperation with Samsung has developed a free online course on neural networks and computer vision in the Kazakh language on the educational platform Stepik.  A group of scientists and teachers of KazNU headed by Edilkhan Amirgaliyev, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of NAS RK, together with Samsung Research Russia, developed a Kazakh version of the course "Neural Networks and Computer Vision".

The opening of new medical specialties at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has brought a large number of students from India to our country. The demand for the medical profession in India has always been high. There are many reasons for this. There is a huge labour market, high salaries for doctors, and, above all, the humanistic idea of serving society and contributing to the development of their country.

We have many young scientists who make a significant contribution to the integration of international science. Bekzhan Kosalbayev is one of those people who followed in the footsteps of historical figures of Kara Shanyrak KazNU. He is a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biotechnology, and a microbiologist.
