At the meeting of the Academic Council of KazNU named after Al-Farabi, they discussed the implementation of the main directions of the university development program, as well as the course of the winter examination session.

The number of foreign students studying in Kazakhstani universities has reached 30 thousand. The geography of the states from which people come to Kazakhstan to study has significantly expanded - there is an increase in the number of students from the USA, Africa, Russia, as well as from the countries of the Middle East.

On the eve of the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan, acting Gulnar Ultanbekova, Associate Professor of the Department of Biotechnology of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi, as part of a team of authors, was awarded the State Prize "Al-Farabi" for a scientific project on the development of a domestic antibiotic. 

Al-Farabi KazNU once again confirmed its high competitiveness and rose in the ranking of the best universities in developing countries of Europe and Central Asia QS EECA (Emerging Europe & Central Asia) from 19th place to 16th position.

The Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted the annual final gala concert of the competition "Ana tili aruy" and "Zhigit sultans" 2021. The event was timed to coincide with the 30th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Since this academic year, the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has begun training specialists for this innovative educational program.

In honor of the 100th anniversary of legendary radio, a week of master classes entitled "QAZAQ RADIOSY" - Chronicle of the Century: HISTORY, DEVELOPMENT AND FUTURE was held by the Department of Print and Electronic Media of the Faculty of Journalism of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

In honor of the 30th anniversary of the country's independence, KazNU hosted the traditional city debate tournament "Pupils of Al-Farabi-VI", organized by the intellectual discussion club "Altyn Sapa". Students of higher educational institutions of the city of Almaty took part in the competition.

Today, the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University summed up the results of the decade "Independence is most valuable", dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Day of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
