The trade union of students and undergraduates "Sunkar" of the Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi organized a university project "Studio KazNU". The main goal of this project is to conduct informative meetings with students, interviews with prominent scientists, public figures, poets, writers, and art workers.

The Parliament adopted amendments to the Law "On Science", which improve the conditions for financing and supporting science.

The International Scientific Conference "Spirituality: from Al-Farabi to Nizami" was held within the walls of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. Famous scientists and writers of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, teachers, student youth took part in a large-scale event dedicated to the 880th anniversary of the poet Nizami Ganjavi.

Department of General Linguistics and European Languages, Faculty of Philology, KazNU named after al-Farabi was renamed and now bears the name "Department of Turkic Studies and Theory of Language". The decision to open the Department of Turkic Studies and Theory of Language was made at the Academic Council of the University.

1st year undergraduate student of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Al-Farabi KazNU Azil Zamanbek with the Smart Greenhouse project took the 3rd place at the exhibition of innovative ideas "UpGrade".

A well-known statesman, the first rector of the Kazakh State Law Institute, academician of the Academy of Natural Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Erkesh Nurpeisov gave a leadership lecture at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University within the framework of the program "30 years - 30 weeks" dedicated to the anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence.
