 Within the walls of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, the winners of the XI Summer Universiade were honored among the universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In KazNU named after Al-Farabi, a meeting of the Chairman of the Board - Rector of KazNU named after Al-Farabi Zhanseit Tuimebayev with the regional head of Elsevier for Central Asia and Azerbaijan, Mr. Damir Rakhmetov took place. During the talks, the parties discussed the prospects for further fruitful cooperation in the field of science and education.

At a bilateral meeting of the Chairman of the Board - Rector of KazNU Zh.K. Tuimebayev and Chairman of the Board of JSC "Science Fund" A.A. Orsariev, concrete steps were announced for the further development of long-term and mutually beneficial cooperation between the parties. During the negotiations, attention was focused on the issues of commercialization of the results of scientific and scientific and technical activities.

Al-Farabi KazNU hold a round table event dedicated to the World Environment Day. The event was organized by the Ban Ki-moon Institute for Sustainable Development of the University with the support of the UN Information Office in Kazakhstan. Well-known public figures, ecologists, scientists, experts in the field of environmental protection, representatives of state bodies and non-governmental organizations took part in the open dialogue.

Chairman of the Board - Rector of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev met with the Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Kazakhstan Ali Riza Akinci.

The XI Summer Universiade among the universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan ended on June 9 in the city of Turkestan. National teams from 60 universities of the country took part in the competition. KazNU named after Al-Farabi confidently won in the team competition and took the 1st place, significantly ahead of its rivals in points.

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is undoubtedly one of the national brands. It is the flagship of a higher school, an advanced scientific center of the country, included in the TOP-200 of the best universities in the world. And the scale is impressive: today 30 thousand students study here! Moreover, there are many envoys from near and far abroad among them.

Al-Farabi KazNU, the leading university in Kazakhstan, once again demonstrated a leading position among the best universities in the world by entering the top 200 in the QS WUR ranking. In the post-Soviet space, only two universities are included in this group – Lomonosov Moscow State University (78th place) and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (175th place).

Al-Farabi Kazakh National University hosted the international round table «EU Strategy in Central Asia: Opportunities and Prospects», which was attended by the Special Representative of the European Union for Central Asia Peter Burian, Kazakh scholars and experts.
