10 students took part in the annual republican subject olympiad on the specialty "Foreign Languages" at the Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages named after Abylai Khan in the section of the Japanese language on behalf of the Far East Department, Faculty of Oriental Studies of KazNU named after al-Farabi.
In the first round of the olympiad there were 16 students. The task of the first round was to perform a test work on the Japanese language and literature, as well as writing an essay in Japanese on a given topic.
According to the results of the first round, 8 students moved to the next round. Students who successfully passed the previous round presented to the jury their presentations on the theme: "Cognitive-conceptual significance of intercultural communication in philological research" in the Japanese language.
In the Japanese language section of the olympiad, the jury was represented by: the head of the Mitsubishi Bank branch in Almaty Mr. X.Asano, the specialist of the Kazakhstan-Japan Center for Human Resource Development A.Segawa, the Japanese language specialist Yu.Segawa, the teachers of the Japanese language of the Kazakh National University named after al-Farabi M. Shadaeva and S. Borankulova.
According to the results of two rounds to the students of the Japanese department of the Far East department, the Faculty of Oriental Studies of KazNU. Al-Farabi was awarded three prizes. By the way, the fourth-year student Beisenbai Zere took the honorable first place, the third year students Kanapiya Aitolkyn took the second place and Umeshova Meruert took the third place. All the winners of the Olympiad received special diplomas and memorable prizes.
