Meeting with COMSATS

 

Rector of KazNU Galym Mutanov received the COMSATS delegation, headed by Executive Director Syed Muhammad Junaid Zaid. After greeting the delegation and expressing gratitude for visit, Rector expressed his confidence in further fruitful cooperation, including joint scientific projects, internships, courses for improvements of qualifications, trainings of specialists. Galym Mutanov invited the COMSATS delegation to take part in the celebrations dedicated to the 1150th anniversary of Al-Farabi.

During the meeting, guests were provided with information on active development of medical direction and activities of Medical Faculty.

«Currently, priority is given to development of specialties in General Medicine, General Public Health. Further development of specialties in Clinical Medicine is planned». The joint Medical Center with universities of South Korea has been opened in KazNU and in this connection Pakistani students who want to receive medical education were mentioned.

During the meeting, KazNU’s leadership suggested arranging the arrival of Urdu language teachers and creating Al-Farabi Center in Pakistan, which would become a platform for constant interaction and the tool for propaganda and popularization of ideas and cultural heritage of the Great Thinker, called the «Second Teacher». Also during the meeting, the theme of Supercomputer - the grant of the Chinese government and its potential opportunities was touched upon.

In turn, Syed Muhammad Junaid Zaid thanked the University administration for warm welcome and expressed confidence in further cooperation, noting that, in addition to implementing the decisions taken at the meetings, the Pakistani party is interested in cooperation between KazNU and the University of Information Technologies that has 26 000 students, and with other major Universities of Pakistan as well. Executive Director expressed his willingness to open Al-Farabi Center in Pakistan as well as possibility of arranging arrival of Urdu language teachers from Pakistan. Moreover, the Pakistani side stated interest in cooperation in use of a Supercomputer and in the possibility of sending to Al-Farabi KazNU their students in the number of 5-10 people.

At the end of the meeting, guest stated his readiness to continue working to develop and strengthen good-neighborly relations between the two countries.
