Ambassador's hour with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Pakistan

On April 6, 2018, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Pakistan, Mr. Abdul Salih Khan, as well as the Second Secretary of the Representation of the Republic of Pakistan in Almaty, Mr. Basit Salim Shah and his assistant Manas Karibaev made their first visit to the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University at the Faculty of Oriental Studies. The dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Mr. Yqtiyar Paltore, warmly welcomed the Pakistani delegation whose goal was to resume Pakistani-Kazakh relations in education, science and culture, as well as to renew the previously concluded agreement between al-Farabi KazNU and the National University named after Qaeda Azam in Islamabad, Pakistan.

Honored guests of this meeting were also the Supreme Mufti of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Philology, Professor, prominent Orientalist and diplomat Sheikh Absattar Haji Derbisali and Kazakhstani indologist Dosova Senigul Nauryzbaevna, the one who opened the Department of Indology in Kazakh State University in 1992. The staff of the Middle East and South Asia department, as well as students, undergraduates, doctoral students of the department witnessed this landmark event in the establishment of international relations by the Faculty of Oriental Studies.

Dean of the faculty Mr. Yqtiyar expressed his gratitude to Mr. Abdul Salih Khan, who in turn noted the importance of Kazakh-Pakistani relations and noted that there are many similarities between the two friendly countries in culture, traditions, language and political and economic conditions. Also, the ambassador approved on the agenda of his working days to consider the possibility of concluding an agreement between KazNU and National University of Modern Languages of Islamabad with the aim of exchanging students, teaching staff, delegations, experience, etc. Senimgul Nauryzbaevna pointed out the need for an invitation to the branch of Indology a professor from Pakistan, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary promised to assist in this matter with pleasure. The meeting was held in a cozy friendly atmosphere and laid the foundation for the development of cooperation between al-Farabi KazNU and universities of Pakistan.
