Student of Al-Farabi KazNU Nurlybek Beyseyev won the first place in the Kazakhstan Championship in Short Track, which ended in Karaganda.
80 teams from Kazakhstani cities took part in the Championship.
The 2nd year student of the specialty «Physical Culture and Sport» Nurlybek Beiseyev won the 500m distance, ahead of participants from Kostanay Kuandik Suleimenov, Daniel Yurtub and Zholdas Dinmukhamed from Astana.
At a distance of 1000 meters, N. Beiseyev came first, ahead of J. Sanzhar, D. Zholdas from Astana and K. Suleimenov from Kostanay.
Nurlybek Beiseyev has been participating in the short track for eighth years. He is the winner of the European Cup 2016 in short track, at distances of 500, 1000 and 1500 meters.
It should be noted that the short track is a form of speed skating. The competition involves several athletes who simultaneously skate on an oval path. Short track was developed in Karaganda in the mid 80s of the last century. The short track department was cultivated in the Dynamo and Burevestnik Sports Schools, the Children's and Youth Sports School (a youth sports school), and there were opened the branches in sports schools and classes in general education institutions.
