Students of KazNU win scholarships of Foundation of the First President

On November an award ceremony was held, presenting winners of the republican scholarship competition by Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan — Elbasy. Among the winners, there are six students of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University.

This year the announcement received over 500 applications from students of 40 universities and colleges from around the country. The criteria set for the selection included academic performance as well as students’ personal achievements in scientific, cultural and creative life of their own educational institutions.

80 talented students were selected on a competitive basis and approved for the scholarships of Foundation of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan — Elbasy.

Al-Farabi KazNU is the leader among the universities of Kazakhstan in terms of student numbers, which one more time underlines stiff requirements imposed on the University students in educational, scientific and socio-educational spheres.

The University underpins the University 4.0 development model, based on the ideas of Al-Farabi – the great philosopher of the East – about good and virtuous society. The model encompasses four components: educational, exploratory, spiritual and moral development.

Elbasy. In this, 35 grants were given to institutions providing education in the arts, and 45 – for higher education institutions.

1)    Akgul Dauletbayeva (Faculty of Philosophy and Political Science);

2)    Diana Shamet (Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology);

3)    Aselya Makanova (High school of economics and business);

4)    Ilya Krugovykh (Faculty of Medicine);

5)    Arai Zhumatai (Journalism Department);

6)    Dastan Kastai (Journalism Department).
