Republican student subject Olympiad 2019
4/1/2019From March 28 to March 29, 2019 at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology of the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University the Republican student subject Olympiad in the specialties “5В060600 – Chemistry”, “5В072000 – Chemical technology of inorganic substances” and “5В072100 – Chemical technology of organic substances” took place, which is a system of full-time competitions of students of higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan. During this event an assessment of the knowledge and skills of the participating students was carried out and the winners were determined.
The main mission of the annual Olympiad is the formation of creative thinking among young people and the promotion of research activities of students in the field of chemistry and chemical technology.
In the Olympiad, 27 teams took part, each consisting of 3 people in each team of 1-4 full-time students. The total number of participants was 81 people from Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, L.N. Gumilev Eurasian National University, E.A. Buketov Karaganda State University, K. Zhubanov Aktobe Regional State University, S. Toraigyrov Pavlodar State University, Almaty Technological University, Kazakh-British Technical University, Shakarim State University in Semey, K.I. Satpayev Kazakh National Research Technical University, M. Auezov South Kazakh State University. At the opening of the event, the Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology, Ph.D. Tasibekov Kh.S. delivered.
The Olympiad was held in 2 rounds. In the first round, participants in the specialties ChTOS and ChTIS carried out computer testing, in which participants of the Olympiad answered test questions. In the second round of the specialty ChTIS participants solved the technological problem of the real production of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In the specialty ChTOS, the second round was oral, in which the participant selected by the team was asked to answer questions covering 5 disciplines. The participant was given the right to choose topics and the level of complexity of the questions. For the specialty Chemistry, the first round was theoretical, in which the Olympiad participants were asked to solve problems in the disciplines of the specialty Chemistry, and the second round was experimental, in which the Olympiad participants solved the experimental problem in the laboratory.
Works and answers of participants were evaluated by the competent members of the jury, which included the professor staff of the Kazakh National University and representatives of outside organizations.
The winners of the Olympics in the individual championship were students of KazNU specialty “Chemistry” Tursun Kazbek, specialty ChTIS Ibrahimov Zair and Zhigalenok Yaroslav, specialty ChTOS Auganbek Bauyrzhan, who scored the highest points for the first and second rounds of the Olympiad.
The winners of the Olympics in the team championship are teams of the Kazakh National University. Al-Farabi in all three specialties “Radioactive” (specialty Chemistry), “Oktogen” (specialty ChTIS) and “KazNU 2” (specialty ChTOS), scored the highest amount of the average score for the first and second rounds of the Olympiad.
All participants and teams that took second and third places in the individual and team competition were awarded diplomas and certificates in a festive atmosphere.
