Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation Tlekabul Ramazanov has met with Professor Muhammad Iqbal Chowdhary from the Research Institute of Chemistry, University of Karachi (Pakistan) at Al-Farabi KazNU.

The Parties have discussed scientific and educational activities and the prospects for mutual cooperation of Universities.

As it was noted, in 2015, the Phitochemistry Laboratory of KazNU was opened at Karachi International Center (Pakistan). In this Center, young scientists and students of the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology of Al-Farabi KazNU have been conducting advanced fundamental research on the development of safe and effective herbal remedies against various diseases. The preparations are made on the basis of local raw material. The Center also conducts research and it is dealing with the development of herbal preparations for the local and global pharmaceutical market.

Professor Muhammad Iqbal Chowdhary has described in detail the activities of the Research Institute of Chemistry at the University of Karachi and expressed hope for expanding joint cooperation in the field of Biology and Chemistry.

Professor highlighted that they have established a large Medical Center for Clinical Research, where in-depth work is being done on stem cells, genetic research and neural connections.

During the negotiations, the Parties have discussed the issues of academic mobility of students and teaching staff, and exchange of experience in the sphere of science and education.
