Undergraduates’ Overseas Internship

Graduate students of the specialty «Mechanics» of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Al-Farabi KazNU - Azamat Askar, Abilkas Akmarzhan, Bolysbek Durezhat and Erdesh Yelnar undertook an internship at the AGH University of Science and Technology (Krakow, Poland) under the program «Modern Methods in Design and Manufacturing».

During twelve days, undergraduates listened to lectures by leading professors and advanced specialists of the University, such as J. Cieślik, R.Kudelski, whose lectures were very informative and helpful. The topics of the lectures covered a wide range of issues: Alternative Energy, the Theory of Porous Medium, the Theory of Body Deformations, and Industrial Automation.

Undergraduates learned a lot about the trajectory of technology development and its interaction with production and business. They have participated in the following workshops - «3D Scanning & Printing», and «Water Jet Cutting», and they have listened to all the lectures planned within the program, and at the end of the training they have received Certificates confirming their internship.

The internship program included an important introductory part: excursions to the Research Laboratories of the University on 4.0 Industry, where they have visited more than 30 laboratories. During the tour, the Company's specialists talked about how to automate production and industry, solar energy, wind energy, and biogas production. It was also noticed that Companies pay special attention to environmentally friendly production equipment, waste and gas filtration.

During the internship period the undergraduates have also visited local sights, and they have seen the places of historical significance and monuments.
