Honorary Doctor of Al-Farabi KazNU

On April 8, 2019, the Ceremony of awarding the title of Honorary Doctor of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University to Professor Muhammad Iqbal Choudhury for his significant contribution to the development of chemical science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and for fruitful 20-year collaboration between the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences of the University of Karachi (Pakistan) and Al-Farabi KazNU, was held at Al-Farabi KazNU.

Professor Muhammad Iqbal Choudhary is an internationally recognized scientist in the field of organic chemistry, chemistry of natural compounds, biotechnology and biochemistry and is a Director of the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences of the University of Karachi (Pakistan).

He is a full member of the Islamic Academy of Sciences and the Academy of Sciences of Pakistan; a member of the American, Asian, Swiss, Netherlands Chemical Society; International Society of Fundamental and Applied Chemistry, and etc. Iqbal Chaudhry is an Honorary Professor at Cornell University (New York), Purdue (Indiana), Pensilvania (Preezing), Institute of Oceanography (California), and etc.

Iqbal Choudhary is a holder of honorary state awards «Sitara-i-Imtiaz», «Tamgha-i-Imtiaz», Gold Medal of the Academy of Sciences of Pakistan, awards of the Royal Society of Chemistry, Islamic Academy of Sciences, the Academy of Sciences of Pakistan, as well as many other international awards for contribution and advances in Chemical Science.

Dr. Iqbal Choudhary has over 800 publications published in leading international editions in the USA, Europe and Asia. He has published more than 24 books in Europe and the USA. Today, he is one of the most cited international scientists. Over the past 5 years, he has a citation of more than 3,000, and the total impact factor of his articles is more than 825, and the Hirsch Index is 64.
