Opening of «Archiving & Documentation» Training and Production Department

On April 12, 2019, Department of History, Archeology and Ethnology of Al-Farabi KazNU held a solemn opening of the Training and Production Department of «Archiving and Documentation» on the specialty «Archive, Documentation and Documentation Support» on the basis of the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in order to implement the main directions and tasks specified in the «Archive-2025» program that is published under the article «Seven Facets of the Great Steppe» by the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.A. Nazarbayev.

The solemn opening ceremony of the «Archiving and Documentation Department» was opened by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of Al-Farabi KazNU A.K. Hikmetov and the Director of the Archive of the President of Kazakhstan, Zh.Yu. Abdukadyrova. The event was also attended by the Director General of the Institute of Information and Administrative Technologies B.A. Zhaparov, Dean of the Faculty of History, Archeology and Ethnology, M.S. Nogaybaeva, Head of the Department of World History, Historiography and Source Studies, G.S. Sultangaliyev, teachers of Abay KazNPU, teachers, students and undergraduates of Al-Farabi KazNU.

For several years, the Archive of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan as a potential employer has been working closely with Al-Farabi KazNU in the field of dual education, in conducting the Summer School for Young Archivists, in organizing joint summer schools of young archivists, a city subject Olympiad, scientific and methodological seminars, production and research practice of students and undergraduates. The opening of the Department on the basis of production in the future will become an important educational and methodological center, where students and undergraduates will be able to develop theoretical knowledge in practice.
